Mobis, Hyundai of Hyundai Motor Group's components division, is in talks with South Korea's fabless chip company to develop self-developed automotive chips. It is reported that Hyundai Motor and Hyundai Mobis recently shared some specifications of the automotive semiconductors they are using with South Korean System Semiconductor. The list they gave includes eight analog semiconductors, including microcontroller units (MCUs), display driver ICs, and power management ICs, especially MCUs, and they showed the design specifications of a 32-bit chip based on a 65-nanometer process. Most of the automotive chips in the industry are imported from overseas. The main sources include Germany's Infineon, Switzerland's ST Microelectronics, the Netherlands NXP (NXP) and the United States Texas Instruments (Texas Instruments).
